What is Osteopathy & Naturopathy?

Pain and discomfort are warning signals, like a traffic light, they are not to be ignored. The body has the key to the answers if only we can learn to listen to it. Osteopaths and Naturopaths seek to find the cause of the dysfunction and pain, they work with the patient to attain health through exploring the optimal conditions to regain balance and health. This education will involve addressing their enviroment, work, diet, hobbies and mental well being.

Osteopathy and Naturopathy - not just for back pain. Osteopathy is also used in the management of:

  • headache arising from the neck

  • migraine prevention;

  • neck pain and stiffness;

  • frozen shoulder and tennis elbow arising from associated musculoskeletal conditions

  • minor sports injuries

  • generalised aches and pains including those with arthritic pain

  • sprained ankles;

  • neuralgia

Naturopathy is particularly concerned with optimising the health by examining the function and lifestyle in relation to:

  • the respiratory system looking at breathing techniques;

  • cardiovascular system looking at stress and diet;

  • gastrointestinal, looking at eating habits and digestion problems;

  • the organs of elimination such as the skin, lungs, kidneys and bowels.

This may be achieved through poultices, special diets and/or teas, skin brushing, hydrotherapy and supplementation.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low Level laser Therapy (LLLT) otherwise known as photobiomodulation has been used for many years for pain relief, sports injuries, healing of musculoskeletal conditions both acute and chronic with research showing positive outcomes for healing and muscle fatigue. LLLT is used as an adjunct therapy with manual therapy such as Osteopathy for neuropathy pain syndrome. More information can be found at https://www.thorlaser.com.
